Painting

My artistic aesthetic is an abstract exploration of patterns, celebration of color, and experimentations with the luminosity of metal. Working with copper sheet as a canvas, the metal is modified through the metal working process of embossing and fold-forming.  Painted color is added to the formed shapes, which emphasizes the 3-D relief and creates additional patterning through color.  Curved and circular shapes and patterns, bright colors, multiple non-square canvases that interact with the installation space are all part of the composition and intent – to visually capture feelings and emotions of happiness, joy and wonder.    Many of my artworks are a series of two or three artworks that are modular in nature and frequently designed for specific placement adjacent to corners or doorframes to soften and bring interest to the hard angles of our built environment.
